FIFA El Tornado

For adamandeveDDB's first work for FIFA, we wanted to go beyond the big film and influence culture. As a social media expert I was part of the team that crafted El Tornado, an in-game skill move that makes it out into the real world. I shot lo-fi content for the main film featuring IRL attempts at the skill move. I community managed the response to the campaign launch, searched for and shared uses of El Tornado with supporting copy from FIFA's accounts. I also wrote tweet copy for various footballers and celebs who gave the skill move a go. The result was a campaign that genuinely influenced culture, with an in-game skill move being tried on five-a-side pitches and driveways all over the world. It was a great success, winning the Social and Influencer category at Cannes as well as a Campaign BIG award and a smattering of other accolades. Back of the net!
